What is "MELT" 

"MELT" stands for Mandatory Entry Level Training which was implemented in 2021. It is the only Class 1 course available in British Columbia now. It is a set cirriculum framework of minimum requirements to obtain a class 1 license. 

What are the prerequisites?

You must be a minimum of 19 years of age and hold your class 1 learners prior to the start date of the course.

What is my time commitment?

This course is 147 hours which runs approximately 6-8 weeks. The first 3 weeks is all day training starting with theory in the morning and finishing the afternoons with In Yard training in groups. The last 5 weeks is 1-1 instructor training in the truck.
